1. Scope

Cirrus Inc., a Florida corporation, doing business as CirrusTranslate (“CirrusTranslate,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you visit or use our websites, portals, APIs, mobile or desktop applications, and any related online or offline services (collectively, the “Services”). By accessing or using the Services, you agree to the practices described below. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

2. Information We Collect

Note: Source Material may contain personal, financial, health, or other sensitive data. We treat Source Material as confidential and process it solely to deliver the Services, as described below.

3. How We Use Information

  1. Deliver Services: Translate, transcribe, caption, analyze, or otherwise process Source Material; provide deliverables and order confirmations.
  2. Operate & Improve Platform: Monitor performance, conduct troubleshooting, develop new features, enhance usability.
  3. Security & Fraud Prevention: Authenticate users, detect malicious activity, enforce our Terms of Service.
  4. Payments & Accounting: Process payments, issue invoices, detect payment fraud, maintain bookkeeping records.
  5. Customer Support: Respond to inquiries, resolve disputes, provide technical assistance.
  6. Legal Compliance: Satisfy legal obligations, court orders, and law-enforcement requests.
  7. Marketing (Opt-in): Send newsletters or promotional emails only if you have opted in; you can opt out at any time.

We do not sell or lease personal information to third parties for monetary consideration.

4. AI & Third-Party Processing

To fulfill your requests, we route Source Material and related data through the following authorized sub-processors. Each processes data solely to provide the Services and under confidentiality and data-protection agreements.

By submitting Source Material, you consent to its processing by these sub-processors solely for the purposes listed above. Links to each provider’s privacy documentation are available on our Sub-processor page.

5. Retention & Deletion

6. Cookies & Tracking

We use first-party and third-party cookies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, compile analytics, and detect security anomalies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser, but core features may not function properly.

Do Not Track: Because no uniform DNT standard exists, we do not alter our practices when we receive DNT signals.

7. Disclosures of Information

We share personal information only:

We never disclose Source Material contents to freelance linguists unless governed by NDAs and least-privilege controls.

8. Security

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we follow industry best practices to mitigate risk.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g., California Consumer Privacy Act “CCPA”), you may have the right to:

  1. Access the personal information we hold about you;
  2. Delete personal information (subject to retention rules above);
  3. Correct inaccurate information;
  4. Opt out of marketing communications;
  5. Exercise these rights without discrimination.

To exercise any right, email translation@hellocirrus.com. We will verify your identity and respond within 45 days, subject to legally permitted extensions. We confirm that we do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA.

10. Children’s Privacy

The Services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have received such information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

11. International Users

CirrusTranslate is based in the United States. If you access the Services from outside the U.S., you consent to your information being transferred to and processed in the U.S. or other countries where our sub-processors operate. Local laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version and update the “Last updated” date. Significant changes will be announced via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
